Day 4

After another busy day on the slopes our afternoon activity was the luge de Alpe D’Huez. We could control the speed using levers so we enjoyed going very fast at times! During the day the blue group of skiers tackled and successfully completed the longest black run in Europe known as ‘La Sarenne’. Meanwhile, the orange group completed their first green run called ‘Chez Roger’. We are so proud of each and every one of them!

Evening 3

For this evening’s après-ski activity we had a trip to the local outdoor piscine. It’s not every day you get to experience swimming outside surrounded by snow and mountains! We also had a little bit of time to wander around the town and practice our French by buying more sweets and souvenirs. Très bien!

Evening 1 – Bum-boarding

We were all very excited for this evening’s activity – bum boarding! We walked to a slope close by to our hotel where we were able to board all the way down, reaching high speeds along the way (check out the videos at the bottom)! Some of the staff members even tried it out too! We all had a great time then headed back to the hotel for a warm hot chocolate before bed. Another very busy day indeed but we are all set for another day of skiing tomorrow!

Morning 1

After breakfast, we split into our ability groups for skiing then made sure we had all our necessary equipment before heading off to the slopes. We used a bucket lift to reach our ski school. The views from it were great as we were able to see the whole town. You just have to be careful to get on and off the bucket lift quickly!

Out on the slopes we met our ski instructors who were lovely and could not have been more helpful at either showing us the ropes or helping us to advance our skills.
